OverviewAdaptive computing facilities are available in public sites for individuals with disabilities.StandardsContemporary Adaptive Computing resources need to be provided in the 'least restrictive environment'; need to perform reliably and efficiently upon demand for all core disabilities (blind, low vision, reading disabilities, tactile problems, mobility impairments). Special requirements which cannot be satisfied by the resources at the CIT public sites will be addressed providing notice is given sufficiently in advance. ProcessASCIT is not responsible or competent to evaluate individuals regarding adaptive computing solutions except in the most general sense. Professional assistance, such as that available thru the Center for Assistive Technology, is required for evaluation and training. Any student, faculty and staff member may use the Adaptive Computing Workstation at the CIT public computing sites. However, priority must be given to individuals with disabilities. Any individual requesting access due to a disability need not prove or demonstrate the disability. Note: many individuals with disabilities, for a variety of good reasons, refuse to self identify as disabled or register with the Office of Disability Service. Individuals with special requirements should notify the Primary Contact. Because it may be necessary to acquire special hardware and/or software, this notification should be well prior to the start of the semester.
