UB Wings Disk Space

Overview
The Disk space on the UBWings machine (wings.buffalo.edu) is primarily for UB information providers (IP) to deliver information via the Internet in support of their research, instruction and administration.
Standards

Every faculty, staff, department, and student organization at UB is eligible for space on UBWings to use for delivering information via the Internet in support of their research, instruction, and administrative and support roles.
Individuals are given an initial disk space quota on Wings. If you are working on multiple Web areas your needs may require additional disk space. To request additional disk space quota on Wings, please email wings@buffalo.edu. To check your quota and usage on Wings do the following:

Logon to UBUnix
Enter the following command: /usr/ucb/quota -v
Note the values displayed for: /net/wings/info/www

Process

Make sure that you have a UB ITname (IT account).
In order for you to put information on UBWings, you need to be authorized by a department, a club, or an organization.
Send an email message to wings@buffalo.edu or fill out the online Register as a UBWings Information Provider request form with the following information: the individual's name; phone number; e-mail address; Department/Club name; and a brief description of the website to be created.
Departmental staff or a club officer should contact UBWings staff to confirm the name of the person who will be in charge of the website.
